Nyri Cobalt

 Nyri was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on February 4, 1915. Her mother and father owned a small restaurant and from an early age Nyri used to sing to entertain the patrons of the restaurant. As Nyri got older she aspired to be an opera singer and she certainly had the talent for it but was always considered second best and so she as a young woman in her early 20's she worked in a local lounge as a singer. Then the war started and Germany invaded on April 9, 1940. The German occupation of Denmark would last until ending days of WW2.

Nyri worked at the lounge throughout the German occupation and she found herself becoming quite popular among the German soldiers. The soldiers would come to watch and listen to Nyri sing each night and they would bring their Mistresses. One such Mistress had a dark secret and had become quite enchanted by Nyri's singing. On the night of June 17, 1943 Nyri was confronted by this woman after hours when all had gone home for the night. The woman had praised Nyri for her performance and couldn't let such talent fade away as Nyri would age and die and then her gift could not be shared with anyone ever again. Thus Nyri was embraced that night. Although a German patrol had heard the commotion and found Nyri being attacked by this other woman. They opened fire on the Mistress and the woman fell dead in the back alley. Or so the soldiers thought. They left the body there.

Nyri was escorted home by the German soldiers. They left her there alone as she was not badly hurt. Nyri collapsed on the floor. She woke up sometime later feeling different. There was someone else in the room with her. A well dressed man with a pale complexion. He explained to Nyri what had happened to her and what she had become. Nyri was taken before the Prince of Copenhagen and informed that her sire had been caught and dealt with for violating Kindred law. The Prince happened to recognize Nyri from the lounge and was a fan of her singing. He decided to take pity on her and spare her the same fate as her sire. Nyri was taken in by a Toreador woman and taught about the Kindred ways.

Nyri spent the decades leading up to the present moving from one city to another across Europe every decade or so. She kept working as a singer and she got her big break and got to sing in Prague's Opera House. She kept changing her appearance in each city she moved to. Subtle differences like wearing wigs and in more recent decades colouring her hair.  She never let herself get too famous though before she would move and start anew in another city.

Then we come to modern times and the invention of the internet. Youtube and other platforms were becoming popular and Nyri found a new platform to express herself and share her music on. She would go to concerts often times and had grown quite fond of symphonic metal. She decided to emulate this burgeoning sub-genre of heavy metal and started to perform covers of her favourite symphonic metal bands. Bands like Nightwish, Epica and Within Temptation. But it was time to move on once again and she looked to America this time.
