 Sarah Roth was a ghoul of Mr. Hood and served as the headmistress of his orphanage. She was kind and caring to the children under her care but could be harsh and brutal toward any students of Mr. Hood, enforcing his strict and often cruel regimen. When Thomas Williams, the first child adopted by Mr. Hood, broke free of his brainwashing and left, Sarah was abandoned to manage the orphanage alone. With no support and the children taken away due to Mr. Hood's actions, investigations were scheduled, leaving Sarah overwhelmed and filled with rage at her situation.

In her fury and despair, Sarah was discovered by Pain of Set, a powerful vampire who saw potential in her turmoil. He took her and subjected her to a torturous embrace, transforming her into a Gargoyle. Stripped of her personal memories, she retained only haunted echoes of emotions from her past lives. Now, as a Gargoyle taking the name Layla, she is a being of sorrow and fury, driven by a sense of loss and vengeance she cannot fully comprehend, her past a distant whisper that fuels her rage and confusion.
