Dahlia Moreno

 Dahlia grew up in Edgewater Maryland, a suburb of Annapolis. Her father was CEO of a high end military defense contractor and her mother a socialite turned lobbyist. Dahlia was always a cherub-faced coquette turning heads and hearts. She was modeling and doing pageants since she could walk. 

At a young age Dahlia became fascinated by the Kardashians, sneaking to watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians as her father did not approve of the Kardashians or their lifestyle. Not to mention Dahlia was much too young for most of the subject matter on the show. Still whether it was on her phone, television or tablet Dahlia watched the show behind her parents' backs whenever she could.

When middle school came around Dahlia had already mastered the art of makeup. She watched numerous makeup tutorials on YouTube and by 14 she was making her own. Within the span of a year Dahlia amassed quite an online following on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok. Her father often protested but her mother felt there was no harm provided Dahlia was extremely cautious online which she always was. Dahlia knew what steps to take to make sure she did not accidentally dox herself or her family and she never DMed anyone who was not a sponsor. 

Despite her growing online fame and sponsor deals her father insisted Dahlia get a proper education, particularly if she wanted to pursue her more fanciful business ideas following in the footsteps of Kylie Jenner. It was college or disinheritance. 

And so Dahlia enrolled at University of Maryland to get an MBA with a minor in business law. It wasn't long into her first semester however when she met Deigo, a handsome and mysterious young man who though polite and could make her melt with his accent had some sort of air of danger about him. Dahlia was so enamored by Deigo that she didn't notice things like his only going on dates at night and his avoidance of mirrors. It never seemed odd how Deigo loved giving hickeys even more than kissing it seemed but he just knew how to make her body feel so damn good.

It came as quite a shock then when Deigo revealed what he really was, and what he wanted her to become. To never grow old. To never see so much as a grey hair or a wrinkle. How could she say no? Hidden away in a dark room while a fraternity Halloween party thrummed downstairs, Dahlia was embraced. 

Then, everything went straight to hell.

Before Deigo could truly start to explain their nature; the rules, what it truly meant to be a vampire, a group of them assaulted the school. Deigo told Dahlia to hide, to concentrate on blending in with the shadows and staying hidden. Dahlia did as he said. Curled up with her arms wrapped around her, trying to feel like the shadows around her were coalesced to keep her safe. It worked, Dahlia lived. Deigo did not.

With Deigo having met his Final Death and nearby Annapolis, her home now in the control of the very group that killed him, Dahlia fled north to Baltimore to seek refuge.
