His father would fetch him the highest staff to tend to his son that his money could buy as a child for private tutoring and a private nanny as he tended to his business. Cedar's mother was rather disinterested in her son seeing him as a child that made her husband happy with her. Yet despite his families pride in their first born, he was paid little to no attention leaving to him feeling rather isolated for the majority of his youth.On 1912 his father would allow for him to mentor him to attend his first business meeting where he would watch his father expecting for him to be some greater man yet, that was the day he lost respect for his father, seeing how his father so easily bowed the knee to a man that helped him secure his family's wealth and finding out that his father would aid in smuggling and other illicit activities. Rather than question why his father let another manipulate him into the business he asked why he would let this strange man dictate what business he did. As Cedar grew up he slowly became an active socialite and would join parties and scenes with others in high society until the suddenness of his father's death as his father dropped dead in the middle of a business meeting with co-proprietor ruled to be from a sudden heart attack. Cedar figured something was amiss yet soon found himself chained to his father's duties to a strange man that called himself Mr. Radcliff in 1922Having never met this man before he was rather suspicious though upon meeting Mr. Radcliff for the first time did he believe that he had to have been just as young as him while he bolstered such status yet not partaking much into the local scene for someone with such amassed wealth. As the two got to talking, a business deal was struck leaving him out of the sections of his father's business but in the involvement of smuggling booze into the United States from The Boston Harbor. Rather driving a wealthy business while furthering his studies in linguistics as well as studying law to the side did he find that his wealth quickly grew past his father's and amassing great heights of popularity among the Rich and Famous of Boston.In fact, Cedar amassed such great wealth he decided to host his own party where Claude Radcliff would attend later inviting him to his estate after a private moment was shared among the pair. After the party had dissipated did he arrive to Mr. Radcliff's house were Claude would introduce him to his occult collection intriguing Cedar with the series of oddities allowing him to read from his very library, he even lent him a book filled with mentions of curiosities on the promise that he would appear the following fortnight with the book in hand as they had agreed upon.Yet Cedar's life was slowly being orchestrated by this strange man as he started coming into contact with business failings out of the blue forcing him to speak to Claude more and more. In 1929 his mother would have suddenly developed anemia leading to him spending what funds he could. Yet.. Claude still kept Cedar under his wing under pretenses that he had yet to understand. Having lost his status in the turn of the decade and loosing his mother in 1932 from anemia did Claude become the only man for him to depend on. After Cedar's estate was foreclosed on, Claude petitioned that he would write a personal loan to allow Cedar to get back on his feet. Being how the banks had started to shut down in droves he was forced to accept this and would join Claude's cult and study into demonology despite his own personal worries and fears dreaming that he would have a lovely wife and kids. Yet money was still tight as the depression slowly set in forever changing the United States. Yet this man seemed to never run out of funds.After slowly developing a dependency with Claude did Cedar ultimately move in to aid Claude with setting up his illicit rituals before joining in  with the chanting. Yet one night after many attempts did the ritual finally work in summoning a being from the underworld, a demon. While the others stared in terror did Cedar recall the feeling of true terror seeing such a being in-front of him. Yet it all happened so quickly. In one swift motion did he feel the demon growing closer to him as if it coveted his very being leading to a panic stricken frenzy leading to it's momentary escape. Claude originally said it was taken care of holding him close in the moment as Cedar felt his body had been weak and tired seeing the mess the demon left in its wake, even if he had cleaned it would it stain his memory causing a worried conflict to happen between him and Claude, the very same night did Claude offer him to be by his side embracing Cedar in his moment of grief. Yet the nights would continue as Claude tended to Cedars knowledge of the world that he had been brought into in the promise of guidance into his own unlife. Yet Claude slowly slipped further and further away into the dark leaving Cedar alone for two decades. While Claude was gone Cedar's torpor often led him to dream a palace of luxury and nights with a woman of skin of gold that he slowly came to covet. Yet her words he never understood. On the days he slept he was often tormented by strange pains and bouts of fear as if he too was hunted. leading to him feeling that his embrace had turned the man insane. Quickly studying  over it was he able to dictate that in his dreams that this strange gilded woman seemed to resemble a member of Ba'al's legions and confronted her by summoning her. There they would have reunited as Cedar could finally hear her words. I*n doing so he learned the demon from the night of the last circle made the demon angry and seeing him as a target..... Oh and her name being Galleia. Cedar closed to circle after they had forged a pact did she agree to help mentor him into his occult knowledge and aiding in his study of Thaumaturgy as he began to deviate into Dark Thaumaturgy under the Path of Phobos. In 1942 would Claude return to teach him the ropes and about the other clan and showing him how to blend into vampiric society along with his other sect members within Cedar's sire's domain. Finding out the truth as to what they were and even how to hide among kindred society by pretending to be a Ventrue as well as aiding him in understanding more into his own abilities. Though finding Cedar to be gifted in Thaumaturgy. Life was well for the pair of them as they occasionally moved locals across Baltimore as lovers. Cedar would have found himself accustomed running a small pub in the 90's even though he owned the place enjoying the simplistic life that he now lived being how he felt fulfilled. That was until he found his lover dead on his way back home in 1999 slaughtered in the dark street like some cattle. He found himself wishing he was there to stop them but his sire had been found out sending him into hiding.While grieving Cedar took ownership of a strip which later turned into the whole strip buying out each property one by one while continuing his studies of the occult in secret. Inviting him to join them as a cainite after a long talk would he have agreed to join their pact. Among his time with them would he have stumbled upon a young man studying in his bookstore about the occult leading to him ultimately deciding to take him under his wing under the condition that he would work for him as a drug mule and do various odd tasks for the permission to read through his selection of occult books. Aaron Tucker would be the ghouls new name after tossing away his own identity in 2005. Here he would have two other childer though finding how he sees to have nothing to say regarding them but does bring up that he has a few childer here and there.In 2009 did he start working as a Latin Tutor for those wishing to brush up on it later to be hired by a large university where he would have started working as a professor in 2012 full-time taking advantage as if it where a feeding ground as well as a way for him to fill his own cult with others wanting to practice in occult in secret. In which he would have met Sylvie while teaching latin to aid in her learning offered to speak with her to aid in her understanding it as well as aiding with her poor eyesight...  After having her meet with him to learn more into his advance lessons did he start molding her into the perfect childer until guilting her into the embrace leaving her with his floral shop so she could run it knowing how passionate she was about plants figuring it could be good for her. Occasionally he would check in but was heavily involved with his pack which perished in the fires in 2025.Cypress Delaney Overview Overview When you become a statistic hidden from the public's eye in a medicated cage, truly then do you realize you are mad. Cypress had grown used to the progression and regression of her illness to where it became funny when she shared her stories, along side the art projects she made in the unit. Watching people's uncomfortable reactions and shifting gazes, fearing of the deemed "crazy" person was hilarious. Everything and everyone is so funny. So of course she's happy. Why shouldn't she be? Good income because everyone needed food. Especially all the different towns sprouting up. And young Edwin Mills aspired to be a mayor and watch his town prosper. Being apart of the many people who flocked to the town of Ashcroft following its discovery by the founders Charles B. Culver and W. F. Coxhead. Shortly after being bitten by the kindred known as Jim Halloway. It was explained that the town would act as a sort of staging ground for new kindred in the area, and the two of them were going to be at the head, Jim as the Sheriff and Edwin as the Mayor. Of course, the election was rigged, and Edwin won. After the first few months of stabilizing the town and welcoming the new miners who came to dig up the silver veins to get rich quick. Jim Halloway got in contact with other Camarilla towns and began to welcome new Kindred who were more than happy to take part in the feeding on exhausted miners. New Kindred. New Miners. New businesses. Times were amazing. Until the mines dried up. Leaving in droves Edwin could only watch as their only source of food left to the next boom town, and everyone looked to him for guidance. Being the mayor had its perks. A dead eye Sheriff to let everyone know who's in charge. And an intellect that could get you out of any situation. And Kindred know to trust in their prince. But hungry Kindred are foolish Kindred. It didn't take long for Fledgling and Neonate Kindred to ignore their sires and go out into the night, feeding on caravans and taking hostages that would be shackled under the homes of their sires for food. But of course, people disappearing in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere causes questions to be asked. And the ones asking those questions? Hunters. It happened early in the morning. One of the Fledglings disappeared. Assumedly run off. At the end of the day a box of ashes was found in front of the mayor's office and Edwin ordered Jim to start getting everyone ready to evacuate for they have been found. But it was too late. The Fledgling had revealed everything. Every one of the kindred in the town and as the sun set only then could Jim Halloway try and protect his town, ordering Edwin to stay inside and be prepared to get everyone out of there. Gun fire erupted as Hunters rode into the town on horseback, shooting through windows, specifically targeting key houses, keeping the vampires within suppressed while they barricaded the doors and lit the homes on fire. A coordinated assault on each of the homes of the kindred. The only one able to get outside was Jim Halloway who made his last stand shooting down the street to the approaching hunters while Edwin retreated down into the mines that used to run the town. And eventually the gunfire ended. The sound of fire crackling and the smell of smoke was all Edwin could sense. He lost everything. Eventually he had to go back up. Slowly walking through the smoldering remains of both wood and kindred alike before finding a set of revolvers in front of where the town hall used to be. His Sire was dead. And those who didn't run from the town were dead too. And soon Edwin would be as well. Picking up the revolvers as well as gathering ammunition to put into a belt he steadily walked after the men who killed his town. Silent. The thudding of his boots was all he could focus on, pushing away thoughts of guilt and sadness for those he had lost. It took a day of traveling until he found the Hunters camped on the side of a wooded path. He could hear them laughing. Thud thud. Laughing about how easy it was. Thud thud. Laughing about how the only one who put up a fight was lit up before he could get more than two shots in. Edwins's shadow was casted along the trees as he stood before the exhausted men who were settling for a long night's rest. Each one silent as they stared at the one they missed. The one who got away. They thought an angry vampire was a foolish vampire. They were wrong. Drawing his weapons first Edwin fired two shots into two prone hunters. Aiming up at the other 5 he got two more shots off injuring one of the hunters before feeling a stinging pain in his shoulder that sent him retreating into the dark woods. Ducking behind a tree he shot off the left side and ran from the right. The hunters crowded around the campfire firing blindly at where they thought the vampire was. But he was everywhere they weren't. The night was full of fear, men fighting for their lives while Edwin was fighting for vengeance. Once out of ammo he was quick to reload, following every bit of instruction that his Sire had given to him about guns. Remembering every time, he practiced shooting. Eventually the shots came to a close. One final hunter was slowly bleeding out where he stood. Too weak to pull the hammer back on his revolver. Edwin showed himself and approached him. His many wounds slowly healing in front of the frightened man. "What are you...?" ... "Hungry." And sank his teeth into the dying man. Draining him in his entirety for every pint of blood and plasma he had before taking their money and leaving their bodies out in the open for the animals to devour. He returned to his town one more time to empty out the money that he had stashed in the smoldering remains of the town hall and left to the city. Founding a business called "Mills Furniture." and making deals with lumber companies to build furniture that helped make homes not so empty. Eventually he had to 'pass away' and leave his business to the new CEO of the company, a ghoul. When war broke out across Europe, Mills made sure those in war-torn Europe had beds to lay on. Publicity never hurt after all. When prohibition took its hold on America, Edwin started smuggling through the fluffy seats of his sofas and loveseats. And took advantage of World War 2 to help spread his company across America and parts of Europe, Of course, one can only stay in a coffin for so long. Now in Baltimore setting up a new shop he wonders about the Camarilla. Always wanting to get back into politics. If not. History History Raphael has lived in Maryland for his whole life, coming from a lower middle class family. He has no siblings, his mother works at a call center, and his father owns his own baking business. He decided to go to Baltimore for college, to study entomology. He's never had many friends and describes his life as boring and underwhelming. His parents always encouraged his "strange" interests, just happy that he found things to be so passionate about. When he came out to them as transgender at 13, they happily accepted him as their son, helping him socially transition and later medically transition. He's been on HRT since he was 18, and got top surgery at 20. Raph's parents would describe him as unique, or eccentric, whereas he'd describe himself as weird or a freak. group, need to learn more. he would probably be against the church given that his abusive upbringing was heavily influenced by the church, but is Anarch against the church?? need to read up more on this to clarify. he has a secret TM hidden backstory of his adolescence and childhood but I REALLY need to make it time period accurate so no details for now. anyways he suprises Montano childe vamp with his resilience (as growing up poor and almost dying on multiple occasions meant he had always had to get creative with food. street rats, etc., did downright depraved shit to survive like drinking own urine when deprived of water) whom ultimately decides to turn him after having observed him for so long and noting wits, determination, and skills so ruthless he'd harm himself just to survive. childe gets approval for this, probably. which this character is extremely against being turned and hates. ends up seeking revenge on his progenitor, this may include successful diablerie but i need to know more about significance/ impact/ results first. in current day uses his private research lab for genuine human biology research but also on vampires as well whenever the opportunity arises. if another vampire gets on his bad side or fucks around in his territory, they may end up on his operating table. he lives a double life and gets his blood from a steady supply of humans whom are familliar with his faked human identity"s work-- they regularly donate large amounts of blood and plasma for his research, (among other bodily donations from hospitals/ patients like organs that wouldn't be suitable for transplants, samples of cancerous tumors, stem cells samples, etc.) & receive something rare healthwise in return. he's known to be a borderline miracle worker among some patients. he takes pittance especially on those who remind him of his best friend during his human life, whom was murdered by Montanos childe during the weeks of terrorization. his goal is to find a way to get his heart permanently beating again without sacrificing his vampiric lifespan and powers, and possibly even maintain or restore his humanity. high humanity score and relates to stories of Montano a lot, but he does have an edge of cruelty, an even higher need for control, and a desire for power that's been developing since he's been turned. he tries to resist these urges and keeps strict documentation, but gets more desperate with his research as his humanity slowly slips and his assistant suffers from a condition ive yet to decide on. more on his assistant and how she factors in later, he's basically a father/ older sibling figure to her, and is very protective. reason for that still in development. she will likely be a vampire as well but mightve been illegally turned by Placeholder in a desperate attempt to keep her "alive" until he finds a way to restore a vampires humanity. this starts out as the biggest motivation for it, but he begins to prioritize himself more as time goes on. random quirk, he's fond of his plague doctor getup from the 16th~17th centuries, and sometimes still wears it, especially if he intends on interacting with/ meeting with/ targeting other vampires in order to help his double life "human" identity remain hidden. he starts out extremely empathetic born of his own struggles and never wanting anyone to suffer like that again, and then gets colder and more limited in who he's empathetic to as centuries pass and his old self begins drifting away, to his dismay. his assistant is always and remains as his highest priority, however.  (is this a touchstone? *butterfly meme*). the assistant doesn't really care that she's been turned and secretly prefers it, but understands that Placeholder has an immense amount of guilt over it, especially since he couldn't save his best friends life while he was bleeding out in the streets. Tall and lanky, but surprisingly fit. Grey hair and wrinkles show his age before the embrace. Perpetually unkempt hair, despite his efforts. Typically dresses in "retro" suits of his era, or modern equivalents. History History Born in Saint-Quentin, France, Hadrien's early life was quite mundane. His parents both working varying long hours, he was often alone or with friends for long periods of time. Over time, he developed an interest in painting, and attended art exhibitions in Paris in the early 1900s. It was here he'd met the woman he would marry in a few short years, Eleanora, a fellow artist attending one of the exhibitions. Over the next several years, the couple would have 2 children and both were managing to have comfortable success in the arts. Unfortunately, the great war came. Unable to find out if his parents had gotten out of Saint-Quentin before the fighting broke out, he urged Eleanora to flee to her parents in London, afraid that Paris would not be safe for long. Hadrien initially enlisted under a cavalry unit, but as trench warfare took shape and cavalry proved too risky, he soon found himself in the trenches. Through a mix of luck and surprising aptitude, Hadrien not only served for the entire 4 years of the war, but suffered only minor injuries throughout the time. Despite this, he was haunted by all the death he had seen, unable to fully process the sheer scale of suffering he had seen and endured. His luck ran out after the war however. With a tentative peace returning once more, he was finally able to discover that he could find no real trace of what had happened to his parents at all. More worrying, it had been several months now since he had received letters from Eleanora. Traveling to London, he was devastated to learn that Eleanora, their children and her parents had died in a sudden house fire. For the next several years, he simply threw himself into work. Erratic, surreal and often deeply unsettling paintings, evoking misery and a sort of bitterly caustic humor. Isolating himself and drowning himself in grief.  During this time, he would receive a peculiar letter in the mail. In it was the request from a "Baron Dragomir" for a commission to restore a mural in the dining hall of his manse, located in a small town in Romania. It seemed a ridiculous request, but Hadrien felt a strange compulsion to accept it. Plus, his funds had been dwindling and the offered sum was quite high. Upon his arrival to the peculiar locale, he took to living and working in the manse, unbothered by the nocturnal and often strange mannerisms of his host. The job paid well, and as he worked, he began to feel a spark returning, that perhaps this odd job could be what he needs to start living again. Not to mention, Dragomir made for peculiar but entertaining company. The eccentric old man seemed a constant stream of outlandish stories and histories of his lineage and of the local townsfolk. In many ways, he reminded Hadrien of his now long missing father. It was on the eve of the completion of the mural, that Dragomir revealed his true intentions. He had lost much more in the chaos of the great war than just damage to his manse and a mural. He was a vampire of clan Tzimsce, and much of his revenant family and all of his Childer had perished in the war. Hadrien, was a distant relative from his father's side, and when Dragomir had discovered him, and learned of his similar suffering, he decided to "honor" him, with the gift of Embrace. Hadrien had endured and survived so much, why allow mortality to limit his gifts? To grow old and frail when he has so much potential. It was a surprisingly easy choice for Hadrien, after all, he had nothing really to lose. In the following years, He learned much of being a Kindred, but over time grew increasingly resentful of his sire. Dragomir was only really looking out for himself, his overall power and station had been weakened and he needed someone else capable to handle the grunt work. This resent would grow further as Dragomir deepened ties to the Sabbat, Hadrian vehemently disagreeing with their so called "ideals". Eventually, the two came to blows, and Hadrien fled to France. It was here that he's stayed, isolated and maintaining a low profile in the french countryside. Painting and relishing the relative peace of these years. Until yet again, a letter bearing the familiar seal arrived at his home. As he would learn, his Sire had fled to the US, cryptically hinting at some sort of dire trouble he had gotten himself into. Pleading for his aid, Hadrien considered simply tossing the letter, but couldn't help but feel a kinship to the old man. Not to mention, the whole situation did some quite dire.
